Easter attacks: Indictments filed against 25 suspects

The Attorney General has taken steps to file indictments against 25 suspects in relation to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

23,270 indictments have been filed against the 25 persons.

The Attorney General also requested Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya to appoint a three-member bench to hear the charges against the suspects.

The suspects include Naufer Moulavi, Sajeed Moulavi, Mohammad Milhan, Sadiq Abdullah, Adam Lebbe alias ‘Gafoor Mama’, Mohammad Sanasdeen and Mohammad Rizwan.

The indictments were filed over bombing at the St. Anthony’s Shrine in Kochchikade, St. Sebastian’s Church in Katuwapitiya, Zion Church in Batticaloa, three leading hotels in Colombo and Tropical Inn in Dehiwala.

They are charged with conspiring, planning, aiding and abetting, gathering explosives and firearms, murder and attempted murder.
