Three-wheeler owners say Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe responded favourably to a proposal they presented, to implement a regulatory commission for tuk drivers.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Chairman of the All-Island Three-Wheeler Drivers’ and Owners’ Association Sudil Jayaruk said they held talks with the Premier at the Prime Minister’s office to discuss issues faced by those in the profession.
It was agreed during Thursday’s talks, that the implementation of a regulatory commission would benefit consumers to have better service.
Jayaruk assured that the Premier is focused on bringing Sri Lanka out of the economic crisis it is facing.
He revealed that the Premier took steps to inform the Finance Ministry and the National Transport Commission to make the necessary legal and structural provisions to implement a regulatory commission.
