The All Ceylon Three Wheeler Owners’ Association claims three wheeler drivers do not obtain 95 Octane petrol if there is an adequate supply of 92 Octane petrol at filling stations.
Speaking to NewsRadio President Lalith Dharmasekera said suspending the supply of 95 Octane petrol for three wheelers in the event of a shortage at 92 Octane petrol will create a number of issues.
Dharmasekara said fuel prices increased drastically over the past months, adding three wheeler owners resorted to using 95 Octane petrol in the absence of 92 Octane petrol.
Lalith Dharmasekara added if adequate stocks of 92 Octane petrol is available, three wheeler owners will not face any issues.
He however said in the event that 92 Octane is unavailable, three wheeler drivers will be compelled to demand 95 Octane irrespective of the decision by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
The CPC yesterday decided to suspend the supply of 95 Octane petrol for motorcycles and three wheelers considering the current fuel stocks in the country.
