The Foundation for Peoples’ Rights Protection says the public must be wise over statements by Ministers in relation to the energy and power crisis.
Chairman of the organisation Asela Sampath speaking at a media briefing yesterday said Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana stated that fuel prices are the same in Dubai as well.
Sampath added although Minister Gunawardana may not have an issue with the fuel prices in Dubai, the public does.
Asela Sampath added factions enter various corrupt deals, under the guise of concern for the people.
He said entrepreneurs have called for a programme in Sri Lanka to ensure dollars don’t leave the country.
The President of the Foundation said they are speaking up for the people’s rights and not to obtain commissions and bribes.
