Litro Gas company has urged the public to refrain from queuing up for gas, as domestic gas cylinders will not be released to the market today (24).
Litro Gas said domestic gas production was suspended due to the depletion of stocks of gas adding that LPG cylinders will continue to be provided for essential services and business activities.
Meanwhile, a total of USD 6.5 million was paid for two shipments of 7,500MT of gas last afternoon.
The first of two ships carrying 3,500MT of gas is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Litro Gas noted that the distribution of gas will likely resume on Friday or Saturday after the gas shipment is offloaded.
