Dhaniz Ali, who forcibly entered the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation premises on the 13th of July, has been remanded for 14 days and transferred to the Welikada Prison for using a mobile phone while he was in prison.
He was accused of using a mobile phone while in a Magazine Prison cell.
Accordingly, he was produced before a Prisons Board of Inquiry.
Commissioner General of Prisons Chandana Ekanayake said Dhaniz Ali pled guilty before the Colombo Additional District Judge.
Accordingly, he has been remanded for 14 days.
Ali was arrested on board a flight at the Bandaranaike International Airport, while attempting to leave for Dubai, last month and was subsequently remanded.
He was remanded till the tomorrow by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage.
The Magistrate issued directives to produce Dhaniz Ali at an identification parade tomorrow as well.
Ali was arrested on charges of levelling threats via national TV, disrupting broadcasting operations, damaging public property, and assaulting security forces officers.
The 31 year old individual is a resident of Webada, Kurunegala.
