The adjournment debate on the first report of the Committee on Public Enterprises pertaining to the second session of the Ninth Parliament, which was tabled in Parliament on the 8th of March, will take place on the 23rd of June between 11am and 5.30pm.
The decision was reached at the recent meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business Chaired by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, Parliament will convene from the 21st to the 24th of this month and each day except the 24th, time has been allotted from 10am to 11am for questions for oral answers.
The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill and the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill will also be passed without a debate on the 21st.
The Industrial Disputes (Special Provisions) Bill will be taken up for debate on the 21st while time has been allotted from 4.30pm to 4.50pm for questions at the adjournment time.
The motion at the adjournment time moved by the government will then be taken up from 4.50pm to 5.30pm.
Meanwhile the Debate on the prevailing issues of the health sector will be held on the 22nd on a motion moved by the Opposition.
The Committee on Parliamentary Business also decided to set aside time from 10am to 5.30pm on the 24th for the second day of the vote of condolence for the late Amarakeerthi Athukorala.
