Dates have been fixed to commence the evidence hearing in the case filed at the Colombo High Court against a former Swiss Embassy staffer who is accused of making false statements to the Criminal Investigations Department by claiming that she was abducted by a group of unidentified men in 2019.
When the case was taken up for hearing this morning, Colombo High Court Judge Namal Ballalle ordered to commence evidence hearing on the 5th of August.
Meanwhile, officials of the Attorney General’s Department today handed an English translation of the indictments to the accused in open court.
The Judge also ordered to issue notice to the first and the second witness of the case to appear before court on the 5th of August.
Last year, the Colombo High Court served indictments on the former Swiss Embassy Staffer, on charges of making false statements to the CID by claiming that she was abducted by a group of unidentified men.
The accused had alleged that she was abducted on the 25th of November 2019 by a group of five from the Cinnamon Garden area, who had threatened her with firearms, questioned her regarding an Inspector of Police formerly attached to the CID, and then sexually assaulted her, before releasing her.
