The Ceylon Teachers’ Service Union has expressed hope that funds will be allocated through the Budget to address the teacher principal salary anomalies.
Chief Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe taking to social media said on Wednesday Minister Basil Rajapaksa announced that Rs.30 billion will be allocated to solve the teacher principal salary anomalies issue.
Jayasinghe said media reported that the issue has been resolved, adding a statement by the Finance Minister alone does not solve their concerns.
Therefore, Jayasinghe said they will wait for developments.
He claimed that today marks four months since their struggle began.
He added teachers and principal’s strength and unity has already been showcased.
