The Ceylon Teachers Service Union says another discussion will be held this afternoon with officials of the Ministry of Education, focusing on teachers’ and principals’ salary anomalies.
Taking to social media, Chief Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said certain groups are giving undue value to the discussion.
Jayasinghe said favourbale solutions cannot be expected from this discussion as well, pertaining to issues faced by teachers and principals.
He said today marks the 67th consecutive day of trade union action adding that certain individuals are calling for the trade union action to be brought to an end from today.
The Chief Secretary said irrespective of comments from such groups, the teachers and principals’ trade union alliance yesterday agreed to attend the discussion
