Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka says storages of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation have sufficient fuel for only 10 days.
The MP said the Cabinet Ministers must inform Parliament and the public of this development, as the government and not the public is responsible for paying dollars to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and fuel to the Ceylon Electricity Board.
MP Ranawaka said neither the Ministers of Fuel and Power nor the government have been granted a mandate to sell valuable state resources without any open procurements.
MP Ranawaka added as the government and the Ministers are unable to resolve this issue, the time is apt for the people to take a collective democratic decision.
