Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian SB Dissanayake says the COVID-19 pandemic is not a deadly disease to be feared.
Speaking at a media briefing today, MP Dissanayake said the main reason behind coronavirus deaths is the unwarranted fear among the public.
The MP said Sri Lanka’s mortality rate is still 1.9 percent.
He noted the fear of death must not be created in the public.
The Parliamentarian said 81% recover from the coronavirus unaware that they contracted the virus, while 14 percent suffer from a cold or a slight fever similar to a fever they have when vaccinated.
