The interim injunction issued by the Colombo District Court preventing the removal of Raja Collure as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Communist Party has been extended till the 7th of January.
The order was issued by District Judge Aruna Aluthge this afternoon.
The injunction order also prevents the Communist Party from appointing another individual as its Chairman.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party decided to remove Raja Collure as its Chairman on the 24th of October.
A petition was filed by Chairman Raja Collure naming Central Committee Member and General Secretary of the Communist Party Dr. G Weerasinghe, Vice Chairman Weerasumana Weerasinghe, Former Chairman DV Gunesekera and several other as respondents.
