The Colombo Permanent High Court-at-bar today announced that several charges filed against former Minister Ravi Karunanayake and nine others pertaining to the second controversial bond issuance case cannot be taken forward.
22 indictments were served on the group for allegedly causing a loss of Rs.15 billion to the government through the bond auction held during the tenure of the previous government.
NewsRadio court correspondent said the bench today determined that 11 charges filed against the group cannot be taken forward while the consideration of 11 other charges will take place on the 26th of January.
A three-judge bench decided to hear the case filed by the Attorney General against the ten suspects, for allegedly causing a loss of Rs.15 billion to the government through the bond auction.
