Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts Parliamentarian Prof. Tissa Vitarana is due to present the first report of the second session of the ninth parliament today.
The report includes information on seven government departments called before the COPE from the 4th of August to the 19th of November last year, and information pertaining to a special audit report compiled by the committee.
Meanwhile, the management of Litro Gas Lanka Ltd. has been summoned before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) today (20).
Litro officials are expected to be present at 11am to inquire into the current gas shortage and related solutions.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday on the need to expedite the distribution of gas, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe requested COPE to summon officials of Litro Gas to inquire into the matter.
