The Ceylon Teachers Service Union says it does not agree with the decision by the Cabinet Sub-Committee, appointed to table recommendations to the salary anomalies of teacher and principal trade unions, to meet teacher and principal unions separately.

The Union is of the view that both parties should be convened together.

Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe speaking to NewsRadio said union action is launched as a teacher principal trade union collective and requested that they be summoned together.

Jayasinghe added the government is merely attempting to prolong this matter and urged the government to promptly address their grievances.

He charged that meeting with individual trade unions will result in a delay of more than a month and claimed they will continue union action until solutions are provided.
