The Foreign Ministry says its Consular Affairs Division in Colombo will provide services for only 150 walk-in customers on a daily basis from today.
The Ministry attributed to the decision to a technical issue in its main Document Attestation System.
The Ministry in a statement said due to a breakdown of the Electronic Document Attestation System (e-DAS) in the Consular Affairs Division, the attestation services during the past week were disrupted resulting in long delays in providing services.
Additionally, the Branch Attestation System at the Regional Consular Offices and Sri Lanka Missions overseas are also affected.
The Foreign Ministry said it regrets the inconvenience caused to the public and noted that it is compelled to limit the consular services from today.
Normal services for certificates/documents attestation are expected to resume once the issues are rectified.
The general public has been requested to contact the Consular Affairs Division via 011- 2338812 or email@example.com for information.
