Consular Affairs Division to function tomorrow

The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will remain open tomorrow for limited services, despite being declared a special holiday by the government.

The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will remain open tomorrow for limited services, despite being declared a special holiday by the government.

In accordance with the instructions of the Public Administration Circular No.13/2022, dated 10.06.2022, government offices will be closed tomorrow.

The circular said the decision was reached having taken into consideration the issues in the transport system and the difficulties in maintaining office function during power cuts and Tuesday already being a holiday.

The Foreign Ministry said despite the announcement, the Consular Affairs Division will remain open for very limited services tomorrow between 7.30am and 4.30pm.

Regional consular offices in Jaffna, Matara, Kandy, Trincomalee and Kurunegala will also be opened for limited services tomorrow.

The Consular Affairs Division will be closed on Tuesday, in view of Poson Poya and will open on Wednesday, for regular functions.

Meanwhile, The Department of Immigration and Emigration has also announced that its head office and other regional offices will remain open as usual tomorrow, despite being declared a holiday for government offices.
