Parliamentarian Rajitha Senarathne says the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will contribute towards an interim government only under a consensual framework on several matters.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, MP Senarathne said these include tabling an Impeachment Motion against the President, abolishing the Executive Presidency, and removing executive powers vested with the Prime Minister through the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
The Parliamentarian said they will not form an interim government under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He said Sri Lankans around the world and all sectors are demanding the immediate resignation of the Head of State and other members of the Rajapaksa-family.
He said they will only contribute to any interim government only if these conditions are met.
