The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says the opposition will consider supporting the government in addressing the present economic crisis if a suitable programme is introduced.
Parliamentarian Niroshan Perera when contacted by NewsRadio said the repayment of debts, without a clear plan, is not the solution to an economic crisis.
MP Perera said they urged the government to seek the support of the International Monetary Fund and questioned which countries have provided Sri Lanka concessions.
He charged that foreign reserves have also depleted while Sri Lanka’s ratings have dropped significantly and the economic crisis has worsened.
The Parliamentarian requested the government to table a solution to the present economic crisis adding that it must be a long-term plan.
