CID summons Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara

The Director of the Medical Research Institute of Sri Lanka Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department.

The Director of the Medical Research Institute of Sri Lanka Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department.

Dr. Bandara has been requested to appear before the CID to record a statement pertaining to claims he made at a media briefing on medicines.

The CID has commenced investigation over a statement he made pertaining to the production of medicine in the country and regarding the disappearance of data related to medicine stocks at the National Medicines Regulatory Authority.

A complaint regarding the matter was lodged with the CID by the Chairman of the NMRA and the  State Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
