A group of officers of the Criminal Investigation Department has recorded statements from four Members of Parliament in relation to the unrest and violence that was reported opposite the Temple Trees and at Galle Face on the 9th of May.

The statements were recorded by the CID at the Parliament complex yesterday.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MPs Rohitha Abeygunawardana, CB Ratnayake, Sahan Pradeep, and Sanjeeva Edirimanna recorded statements with the CID.

The CID has recorded statements from several MPs on Tuesday as well.

The Attorney General earlier this week informed the IGP to record statements and arrest 22 individuals, including former Ministers, in connection with the attack on protesters last Monday.
