The Criminal Investigation Department today informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that investigations have been launched pertaining to a complaint lodged by the Director of Sri Lanka State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Salley pertaining to references made regarding the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks during an online forum.
Major General Suresh Salley has lodged a complaint calling for an investigation to be conducted into a discussion by the Global Forum for Justice regarding the Easter attacks, for the local and international community.
The CID informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala in this regard, while filing a report over the incident.
The CID informed Court that the Global Forum for Justice had conducted a Zoom discussion for the local and international fraternity, on the 23rd of October.
They had informed that the Head of the SIS had called for an investigation to be conducted pertaining to false claims made during the discussion.
The CID informed they will report to Court after statements are recorded from all factions and further investigations are conducted with regards to the complaint.
After considering all details the Chief Magistrate informed the CID to report to conduct investigations relating to the complaint and report to Court.
