Parliamentarian Nalin Bandara Jayamaha has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department over the disappearance of sensitive data and files at the National Medicines Regulatory Authority.
Parliamentarian Jayamaha said the sudden disappearance of sensitive data is an action against the provisions of the National Drug Regulatory Authority Act.
He also claimed the disappearance of data a serious threat to national security and the country’s health system and has called for a stringent investigation to be conducted to bring perpetrators to book.
MP Nalin Bandara claimed the medicinal drugs mafia is raising its head once again, adding that the government is inconveniencing the public by increasing prices of medicinal drugs excessively.
He said politicians, state officials and businessmen involved in the incident should be brought to book.
MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha noted that they want to make a statement in Parliament regarding the matter and therefore called on the CID to conduct a comprehensive investigation to uncover all details.
