Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says the whole of Asia has experienced change at present due to China’s friendship with countries in the region and its self-reliance.
The Prime Minister speaking at a function to mark the 65th anniversary of China-Sri Lanka diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Rubber Rice Pact said, although China is a large country and has an important place in history, China never invaded another country.
The Premier said China has a proud and commendable history.
The Prime Minister added foreign countries in the past failed to invade China as well while China has never succumbed to foreign influence.
Premier Rajapaksa said Sri Lanka and China share ties related to Buddhism, international trade, and cultural ties while bilateral ties have expanded through the years.
