China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi who arrived in Sri Lanka on an official two-day visit has held discussions with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said several bilateral matters were discussed during the meeting.
The Premier said discussions focused on the logistics of facilitating the return of the many Sri Lankan medical students to China.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa said a host of issues including tourism, investments, COVID-19 relief and post COVID preparedness was also discussed.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Chinese government for its continued support to Sri Lanka.
The Premier said he is hopeful that the relationship between China and Sri Lanka will only grow and be strengthened in the years to come.
