China has reaffirmed its continued and concrete support to Sri Lanka.
The matter was conveyed when Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
During the meeting, Ambassador Qi Zhenhong has informed Prime Minister Wickremesinghe that China will continue to support Sri Lanka in areas of trade and investment during the current crisis.
The Ambassador has noted that Chinese banks are also ready to negotiate with Sri Lanka to properly handle matured debts.
The Chinese Embassy in Colombo said in a statement, that Premier Wickremesinghe had agreed with Ambassador Qi Zhenhong that Chinese joint ventures and projects have been playing a vitally important role in Sri Lanka’s development, and both sides should support their construction and operation which will aid the country’s economic recovery.
