Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Prof. Charitha Herath has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) for the second session of the ninth Parliament.
The Chairman was appointed after he was nominated and proposed by members of the committee.
COPE convened in Parliament this morning.
The third COPE report on investigations conducted during the last quarter of the first session of the ninth Parliament was approved by the COPE members to be tabled in Parliament.
The Committee also agreed to re-summon institutions that were convened before COPE, but were postponed due to various reasons during the previous Parliamentary session.
