Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Janaka Ratnayake says they have taken a decision not to impose power cuts during morning hours between 7am and noon from tomorrow based on a request made by the Ministry of Education.
Janaka Ratnayake said since students will be engaged in online education during the next two weeks, the Ceylon Electricity Board has been instructed not to impose power cuts in the morning.
He said they have fuel stocks necessary for next two days to implement the programmes.
The PUCSL Chairman said since the political authority has agreed, they are hoping to receive naphtha and furnace oil stocks required to generate electricity for the next two weeks.
