The work to rule campaign launched by the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Association demanding the removal of the General Manager of the CEB is continuing.
However, the Union reached a decision to enforce only the first phase of the trade union action considering the difficulties faced by the public.
Meanwhile, member of the Executive Committee of the CEB Engineers’ Association Charitha Jayanath Dayaratne told NewsRadio he received information that the Attorney General had issued an interpretation to the CEB Chairman regarding the appointment of the current General Manager and therefore claimed they will await decisions by the CEB Chairman and the Board of Directors.
He charged that authorities continue to delay the process, despite directives being issued by the Attorney General.
Dayaratne said the public will be severely affected if they enter the second phase of the work to rule campaign.
He said the Union will grant several more days for authorities to take action regarding the appointment of the General Manager.
