The Ceylon Electricity Board and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation are scheduled to hold talks today over ensuring an uninterrupted supply of electricity in the country.
Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge said he hopes to request the CPC to supply fuel in order to continuously supply electricity until Tuesday.
He said the Kelanitissa Power Station has received 3,000MT of furnace oil which will help ensure an uninterrupted power supply till Tuesday.
Minister Lokuge added he will communicate to the CPC, the volume of fuel the CEB requires to produce electricity annually.
The Minister said he hopes to come to a final conclusion at today’s talks over the uninterrupted supply of electricity.
