The All-Island Private Bus Owners Federation has called for a 35 percent increase in bus fares in comparison to the fuel prices that were increased today.
Chief Secretary of the Federation Anjana Priyanjith speaking to media said the minimum bus fare of Rs.28 must increase to Rs.35.
He said the public will likely be affected while the bus industry too will be affected.
He added they will continue to demand diesel concessions for the bus industry.
