British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Sarah Hulton has called on President Ranil Wickremasinghe today.
The British High Commissioner said she is looking forward to strengthening the UK-Sri Lanka relationship within a peaceful, democratic and inclusive space.
She added that during the meeting with the President, she raised matters concerning human rights and due process in line with United Nations Human Rights Council resolutions.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung today called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The meeting was held at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President’s Media Division said the two parties discussed continuing bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and the US through a strong approach.
The Ambassador also assured that she will extend her support in future efforts of the new government.
Meanwhile Julie Chung taking to Twitter said the President takes office at a time when Sri Lanka stands at a crossroads.
She said they discussed how Sri Lanka arrived to this point of an economic and political crisis, and deliberated how the US can work together to navigate toward a brighter future for all.
