The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment urges the public not to fall prey to individuals who are scamming persons interested in taking up employment overseas.
The Bureau also requests the public to report any information regarding such rackets to the Information Centre of the Bureau via the 1989 hotline number.
It said recruitment and training for employment in South Korea is only conducted by the Foreign Employment Bureau in a formal manner.
According to the Bureau, employment in Japan is done only by the State Recruitment Bureau and several licensed employment agencies in accordance with the agreement reached between the two countries.
Meanwhile, recruitment for employment in Israeli will be done in accordance with the agreement reached between the two countries.
The SLBFE said additionally, recruitment for employment in Israeli is done by several licensed employment agencies.
It said apart from this, no other individual has been appointed by the State Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotions and Market Diversification or the Bureau to accept applications for overseas employment.
