Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen who was arrested in relation to investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks has been further remanded till the 14th of October.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate’s court.
MP Bathiudeen was arrested on the 24th of April by the Criminal Investigation Department over investigations into the bombings.
He was arrested under provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
The MP is charged with ties to the owner of the copper factory in Wellampitiya, who was one of the suicide bombers in the Easter attacks.
Meanwhile, 16 individuals who were arrested for allegedly damaging Buddha statues in Mawanella have been remanded until the 11th of November.
