Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana says Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa will inform his stance pertaining to the report compiled by the International Monetary Fund regarding Sri Lanka, to the Cabinet of Ministers next week.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Department of Government Information Minister Gunawardana said the Finance Minister has held frequent discussions with the IMF, as Sri Lanka is a member of the IMF and it has an office at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Minister Bandula Gunawardana stated accordingly the IMF had compiled a report regarding the situation in Sri Lanka.
He stressed the Finance Minister will inform the details of the report to the Cabinet of Ministers next week.
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Dullas Alahapperuma was also present at the relevant media briefing.
When inquired by media on whether the government is preparing to dissolve Parliament in March and hold a General Election, Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said no discussions have been held in this regard.
Minister Alahapperuma said no discussions have been held pertaining to extending the term of Parliament.
