Acting High Commissioner of Australia in Sri Lanka Amanda Jewell says the Australian Climate Action Plan will extend the same relief to Sri Lanka as other countries.
This was revealed during talks between the Acting High Commissioner and Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Anil Jasinghe.
The duo discussed details on the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Glasgow next month.
Sri Lanka is recognised as a country with the lowest greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
However, Dr. Anil Jasinghe assured, Sri Lanka will make the highest possible contribution to measures taken by the rest of the world in controlling global warming.
Dr. Anil Jasinghe also requested the Australian government’s support in Sri Lankan efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
