Asela Sampath withdraws from all civil organisation activities over death threats

The National Coordinator of the All Island Canteen Owners Association Asela Sampath has decided to temporarily withdraw from all civil organisation activities.

Asela Sampath said a particular group is levelling death threats at him over the phone.

Sampath said he received a death threat at 6am yesterday adding he hopes to lodge a complaint today considering his family’s and his safety.

He said he has provided the phone details and called for an investigation into the incident.
