The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva emphasises that members of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces always abide by the Constitution.

The Army Commander met with the Defence Advisers and Attachés of Foreign High Commissions and Embassies in Sri Lanka at the BMICH yesterday.

During the meeting, General Silva is reported to have briefed the Foreign Mission officials on the current situation in the country.

The Army Commander informed the Defence Advisers that the Armed Forces always works for the security of Sri Lanka.

The discussion was attended by security advisers of the Embassies of the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Japan, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Maldives.
