Former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga says he has no intention of joining any political party during the current climate.
Speaking to media in Kandy, Ranatunga noted that he has received invitations from several political parties but he will now focus on national issues.
The former Minister claimed that he wants to stand for national issues and contribute to causes that impact the entire country.
Arjuna Ranatunga said if he is part of a particular political party, then he is compelled to work based on the policies of the specific party.
Former Minister Ranatunga, therefore, noted that he will not be part of any political party for now and is hoping to contribute to national causes such as formulating a new constitution.
The former Minister added that he will also stand against decisions taken by the government that are detrimental to the country.
