Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has requested the Speaker of House to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to look into the unsafe situation created through the explosion of domestic gas cylinders.
MP Premadasa speaking in Parliament said he was dissatisfied by Minister Bandula Gunawardana’s explanation on the imminent crisis as it was a matter of national security.
The MP requested the government to refrain from evading questions by providing generic answers, and called to provide a clear explanation to rid the people of their fear of exploding cylinders.
He called on the government to provide clear answers to these issues based on scientific evidence, and to deliver on their election pledges.
MP Premadasa added the situation must be resolved at the earliest.
