Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says another diesel and petrol shipment will begin unloading today (21).
The Minister said diesel has been disturbed to all filling stations island-wide during the last two days and will continue to be distributed.
Minister Wijesekera said the distribution of 92 and 95 Octane petrol commenced last morning and will continue to cover all filling stations.
Meanwhile, the Minister noted that organised groups are attempting to prevent fuel bowsers from passing certain areas demanding they be unloaded at different filling stations and threatening to set fire to them.
The Minister claimed that in the event such actions continue, the supply of fuel will have to be suspended for the safety of the transport workforce.
