The number of suspects arrested in connection with the violence that took place in the island on the 9th of May has increased to 2,027.
61 suspects were taken into Police custody yesterday.
Speaking to media, Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said Police have received complaints regarding 855 incidents over the unrest and violence that took place on the 9th of May.
Of the 2,027 suspects, 898 persons have been placed in remand custody.
