Police say 1,248 individuals in total have been arrested over the violent incidents reported, during the past few weeks.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said 654 suspects have received bail while 638 others are being held in remand custody.
SSP Thalduwa said Police are conducting further investigations over the violent incidents that took place since the 9th of May.
He added that 128 suspects were arrested yesterday in connection to the destruction of public property, while adding that 99 of the group were granted bail.
The remaining 68 persons are being held in remand custody.
SSP Thalduwa said Police stations have received 836 complaints in total, over incidents of unrest during the last two weeks.
He assured that Police headquarters will monitor the situation and provide the necessary guidance.
