All ambulances traveling along expressways have been exempted from paying toll fees.
All ambulances affiliated to public and private hospitals will be allowed to use expressways free of charge.
Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando said due to the coronavirus situation in the country, ambulances were allowed to travel along expressways without paying toll fees since the 20th of May.
The Minister said steps have accordingly been taken to extend this regulation until further notice
