Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva says all persons participating in the parade for the 74th Independence Day celebrations are in a bio-bubble.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Department of Government Information the Army Commander said all forces personnel were part of the bio-bubble since a month ago.
He noted all forces personnel began rehearsals for the parade on the 29th of December adding they do not interact among each other as well.
The Army Commander said although additional troops are available for the parade they will all act within the bio-bubble.
General Silva said by working within a bio-bubble they aim to ensure COVID-19 cases will not be detected amongst personnel participating in the parade, similar to last year’s celebrations.
