Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says he is of the view that Members of Parliament should unite under a common programme to steer the country out of the current crisis.
In a letter to the leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has said he expects the support of MP Gammanpila and his party for the programme he has undertaken to stabilize the country.
The Premier said he has held discussions with local and international leaders to overcome the current social, economic and political crisis since taking oaths as the Prime Minister on the 12th of May.
The Prime Minister noted that he has received positive feedback for his programme from the international community to address the current financial crisis.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stressed that while he has taken up an enormous challenge to save the country from the crisis, Parliament should also unite to deliver the goods to the people.
The Prime Minister said therefore he is expecting the support of the PHU to enact necessary legislation in Parliament.
