Treasury bond case to continue without two defendants

The first Permanent High Court at Bar today granted permission to the Attorney General to proceed with the case pertaining to the controversial Central Bank bond transactions, without two defendants, Arjun Mahendran and Ajan Gardiya Punchihewa.

The first Permanent High Court at Bar today granted permission to the Attorney General to proceed with the case pertaining to the controversial Central Bank bond transactions, without two defendants, Arjun Mahendran and Ajan Gardiya Punchihewa.

The order was issued by a bench comprising judges Champa Janaki Rajaratne, Damith Thotawatte and Namal Balalle.

The Criminal Investigation Department and the Department of Immigration and Emigration informed court that the two defendants are not in Sri Lanka at present.

The case will be taken up again on the 7th of July.
