Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says it is a great achievement that the country has been able to amend several laws in the recent past to make school education compulsory and to eliminate child slavery.
Issuing a message to mark World Children’s Day today, the Prime Minister reminded all adults that it is the duty of all to prioritise the protection of children’s rights.
Premier Rajapaksa appealed to parents to look in to the wellbeing of children at home so that they don’t suffer mental distress amidst a global pandemic.
