Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Former President Maithripala Sirisena says certain members accepting Ministerial posts is against the party’s stance.
Speaking in Parliament today, the Minister said the SLFP will support the government’s programme to uplift the country from its present state.
The former President noted that certain SLFP MPs however were sworn in as Ministers this morning in contradiction to the party’s decisions.
He claimed that the SLFP Central Committee decided to provide the necessary support to the government and to vote in favour of decisions when required and determined that accepting Ministerial posts is not required.
Former President Sirisena also noted that there are contradictory views between the Prime Minister and members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
The Former President said certain statements by the Prime Minister are being misinterpreted by the SLPP.
